2008 4Runner V8 Fuel Filter

Hey everyone,

I’ve got an 08 V8, having no symptoms, but I’m looking to do some maintenance around the rig. Correct me if I am wrong, but the fuel filter is actually in the tank if I’m not mistaken?

Does anyone here actually replace this piece with regular maintenance like other vehicles or do you just let it ride until it gives you issues?

I didn’t see an external filter to change.

Thanks everyone!

To my knowledge, the V6 & V8 are identical - fuel filter is in the tank. Here's my experience with the fuel filter in the course of having a bad fuel sending unit changed.

This would be correct. You don't service or replace the fuel filter unless the sending unit is having issues. It's an otherwise, non-serviceable item.
