TRD V8 Supercharger for VVTI
Does anybody know what it takes to install a trd supercharger on the VVTI V8's?
So far all I can find are rumors of people saying they know a guy that got it to work.
There is a kit for sale for a good price, but it doesn't include the low profile thermostat housing or any fuel rails or injectors. Just has ECU, module, wiring, hardware, pulleys, and belt.

Honestly, I'd skip the TRD one and get an Elate. Something I might actually do myself at some point. The TRD stuff is good but there's better and TRD parts are hard to find since you can't get them thru the dealer network anymore.
ELATE LX470 2UZ FDFI1900 INTERCOOLED SUPERCHARGER KIT - ELATE MFG. - PERFORMANCE SUPERCHARGER SYSTEMS
It's a better, modern supercharger, using Eaton internals and has an integrated intercooler. Around $6700 when you convert from Aussie dollars. And you can get actual support on it from Elate too.

Probably easier to do that, although the TRD kit I found is sub $2k.

Definitely makes it a tough call. The TRD kits aren't bad but it becomes a real ***** if they are missing parts, as in this case. Especially since it's not possible to get replacement parts from Toyota most of the time. Maybe check URD to see if they have the missing parts the kit needs?

Another place to check is SupraStore. They have a bunch of 2UZ performance stuff as well.

I see the SupraStore sells XAT cams. I've been wishing I had the money to have them build me an N/A. They're based here in Florida. Tons of cores laying around in wrecked Sequoias/Tundras down here. No doubt it would be more economical to just Boost it, but I'm weird like that.

In the midwest I have't seen many yotas in wrecking yards. I see only 2 4.7L vvti trucks w/ engines using the junkyard search site, in all of KS.
