4th Gen Windshield Moulding w part #s

Happy 4th of July Everyone!

I'm starting this thread not so much for discussion, but so that folks might find this information easier than if it was buried in my build thread.

The right and left windshield moulding of my 03' was cracking and the driverside section between the top of the windshield and the roof rack mount, had started to flop around at hwy speed. I also noticed the floor board getting a little wet in heavy rain, so maybe the seal had been breached.

The windshield had a small chip and subsequent star shaped cracks from a debris hit for a few months. So I did some research and found the right moulding and filed an insurance claim to have it replaced. Then I could have the techs replace the moulding at the same time.

Part # pic is right and left sides respectively.

It's one piece from the bottom of the windshield to the roof rack mount? i always thought it was two pieces. The top part of mine is coming out too. Do you know if this piece is glued in or pressed in?

Yes, it is one piece on my 03'.
I don't think they changed it in later years, but you never know.

I don't know if it's glued or pressed in. It seems to me the windshield section should be glued and fit in a groove. But, when my oem moulding came apart between the windshield and rack mount, I don't remember any evidence of glue from the factory. So it might be a press in fit between the corner of the windshield and the rack mount.

Actually, I should have thought about asking the techs if they glued it.

I was scared to pull mine off to check. I'll wait until I have the replacements on hand. $75 each! Is that around what you paid? Crazy prices for some rubber.

Sounds about right. I can't find the confirmation email to know what I paid.

I have this same issue now and just ordered the two parts (left and right side.) (03 SR5 V8 2WD) I am curious how you reinstalled. Do we need a tape or an adhesive spray? Or did they just "press in" tight with a good hold? Thanks!

Hey it looks like I have this same issue developing on my 4th Gen. did you end up using adhesive or do the press in?

I have 2008 and badly need to replace these mouldings, along with sunroof molding, and rear window moldings. Cracked and falling apart.

On my 2008, the side moldings on the windshield are one piece from bottom of windshield and they go up the sides of windshielf, over top of roof, and length of entire roof.

That’s strange because the profile of the Moulding in that FSM does not match my 2007. My looks like the original post and they have a little channel that I actually tuck my light bar wiring into on the passenger side.

The more I mess with mine and looking at the parts list explosion illustration I think there’s a second clip that the rubber Moulding snaps onto. I think I’ll just order the mouldings and see what they look like when they come in and go from there.

This diagram shows moulding fits 2006-2009.

Windshield Molding Outside Right Hand #75533-35050 | Autoparts.toyota.com

Windshield Molding Outside Right Hand (#75533-35050)
Windshield Molding Outside Left Hand (#75534-35050)

Didn't realize the moulding is split under the rack bar attachment, so there are actually two or three moulding parts to cover the roof, per side.

Yeah mine stop right before the first roof rack mounting point on each side. Hoping the new ones just clip into place but not looking forward to having to remove the roof rack to swap them out.
