One of the blend door actuators. They are notorious for doing this as they get older. Search the forums and there is at least one thread that goes over the issue and how to remove and repair the actuators. They don't always need replaced and it is something you should consider doing yourself to save money.
I have at least one in my 2003 that has done this for ages and it really doesn't seem to affect the AC operation. It's more of a slight annoyance than anything but i do need to fix it sometime.
