I posted in an old post a week or so ago about replacing a steering rack and whether to get a new or remanufactured one and the price differences. I thought I'd share some info.
Remanufactured:
I think there are some reputable remanufacturing shops out there such as CVJ Axels in Colorado. I've read good things about them. I think ppl buy CV Axels from them as well here on this board. Assuming they are top notch here are the numbers:
$575 for remanufactured rack with NON-OEM inner tie rods(plus core deposit of $250)
$50-$70 to ship it to me in California

$635 ($60 shipping guestimate. No tax for non-CO residents)
+ $60 to ship back my core. Totally guessing. Maybe more, maybe less?

NEW OEM FROM TOYOTA:
I found one at Boch Toyota of Massachusetts. Retail is $998
$611.70 for the NEW OEM Rack with OEM ITR and OEM OTR (was not expecting new OTR)

WOW, what a deal. The OTRs alone is prob $200. Kinda no brainer.
And maybe I can sell my old rack? Not sure. I saw some for sale on ebay.
