P0158 O2 Sensor Code on 2006 V6 Sport

I got the P0158 O2 Sensor Code about a week or 2 after I replaced both secondary cats. I’m not sure if that had anything to do with it or it’s just coincidence. I know the O2 sensor in question (Bank 2 Sensor 2) is before the new cats.

Is the best way to deal with this is just replace the sensor and hope the check engine light goes away? Or is there others things I can do to troubleshoot the issue? I’ll check the wire harness this weekend and see if I can clean up the sensor.

Bank 2 Sensor 2 is on the driver side correct??

Thanks in advance!!

Bank 2 Sensor 2 is the driver side rear most sensor, after the cat, on the V6.

If you replace the sensor, use only Denso or OEM sensors. Denso is the OEM manufacturer for Toyota, so they are basically the same. Most other sensor manufacturers are a hit or miss as to working or how long they work. Same thing with the cats. Aftermarket is cheaper, sure, but they likely won't last as long as the OEM cats. Toyota uses better materials than any aftermarket does.

I just had the same code pop a few weeks ago, on my 05. New Denso sensor, cleared the code and have now done ~1500 miles without issue.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0016NBBQW is the downstream sensor, just under $50 with prime shipping.
