Am I missing the cv dust cover here

Hello,
Quick question, I bought OEM CV-Axle , part # 43430-60061 for my 2007 4WD SE, from McGeorge Toyota online parts.
Not paying enough attention, I installed the inner side in to differential then felt like the dust cover thing on the old one was not exactly like how the new one fits in to the diff housing.

I did some search and part "Cover - Toyota (41336-35020)" is a fit for my truck but in the notes it says "PARTS: Part included with axle assembly."

Being not sure if I am doing something wrong, I left the crime scene and here I am.
Do OEM axles come with the cover ?
Thank you.

Something doesn't look right there. Not seated enough or a missing part like you list. I don't remember how it is setup though.

Yes , she is a 100K mi , sixteen yo , spoiled bratty southern garage queen who decided to bust a cvboot out of nowhere ;)
And , per McGeorge and common sense , which I didn't have at the time, new OEM CV-axle comes with dust cover.

I sent the pictures to McGeorge customer service email, not sure if they paid any attention to those but they stated axle comes with dust cover .
I put everything back together. Hope it works ;)

I suggest looking at your old axle and see if there is a difference.IIRC the silver piece is the dust seal. There is no boot to go over that area. It looks to be seated correctly. If it was not than the knuckle would not sit properly on the outer joint. When you installed it you should have felt the clip on the inner joint seat in the extension housing.

I did crosscheck with the other axle, and you're right it is seated properly.
Now I have the lit up dashboard lights issue.
VSCoff/ABS/VSCTrac are on.
I must have damaged the speed sensor wire when pulling the steering-knuckle out of the way.
Thanks for the reply.

Their is a dust shield on the outer joint of OEM axle. The inner joint does not. A dust seal is pressed into the differential.
