OEM will still have the issue of bushings wearing out eventually. Poly bushings take much longer to wear out and tighten up the front end considerably.

Should I replace my control arms or just bushings?

I don't do off-roading (I'm in a pathetically flat area!) but I'm wondering if I should replace the control arms on my '05 SR5. It has 178k miles and I do not believe they have been replaced; arms or bushings.
The steering feels good; quick and accurately responsive. But with that mileage, should they be replaced now?
How difficult is that job?
Thanks!

It's a fairly easy job if you're a DIY'er with tools (and who isnt nowadays). Even with my bolts/sleeves being seized, it only took about 3 hours, not long. As with any job, the first side will take longer. The real trick is having those Diablo carbide blades on hand as they make quick work of the stuck hardware. Everything else was cake assuming you dont have any other seized bolts.

I even had time to adjust my toe (quick tape measure and eyeball method) since I put my arms all the way forward to clear the body mount.
