Keep the 4Runner or J80?

When I bought my 4runner earlier this year, I was in need of a car that got better than the 8.5 MPG that my 1995 Bronco got. My job started requiring us to go into the office 3 days a week. I am about 20 miles from the office. So, I started looking for a 4Runner. Found one in decent shape, low miles, (120k for a 2004 model). I hadn't done a ton of research before jumping in, so I bought it. In hindsight, I would have waited for a 05 or newer and a 4WD (mine is a 2WD SR5). With that being said, I enjoy it. I changed the headunit, added LED's to the interior, lifted it using a Taco fron suspension, addednew bilsteins and spacer to the rear, new wheels, tires, rear view camera, etc etc. I like the car, its fun, runs great, no complaints. However, I have noticed that J80's have started to come down in price and am thinking of selling my 4R. The only downside is, I would prefer a 96 or newer. The OBD1 on my 95 Bronco leaves a LOT to be desired, so I want OBDII. What are your guys thoughts? Would you trade yours in for a J80? Mine is mostly stock as I haven't done a ton to it.

When the new Landcruisers do come out, I plan on trading in one of my other newer cars to buy one. Probably the Forester.

4runner will likely drive nicer than an older FJ80 but you'll get 4wd with the FJ80 if you need it. Tit for tat really, they are both heavy slow reliable Toyota SUVs that don't get the best mpg, though better than a Bronco of the same genre apparently.

Find a well cared for 4th gen v8 (preferably sport edition). Full time 4 wheel drive. You'll be smiling.
Or an LX-470 if you like the luxury bloated approach. Except for the superior transfer case used in the Lexus they are pretty much the same vehicle. We have both and it's easy to forget which one I'm driving at the time.
Reasonable high milage is not nearly important the care the vehicle has had and overall condition.
Watch out for rust. But that goes for any vehicle.
I prefer the 04s because they don't have VVTI. Still plenty of torque and much less risk for dyi guy a Timing belt time.

I say keep the 4Runner! It's kinda odd to explain, and I may be the only one here, but when I sold my last 4Runner- I missed it and thought about it almost daily.
Glad to have finally gotten back into one and actually don't want another car.
Could you buy the 4th Gen you originally wanted AND keep your current one?

What follows is all just opinion:

Of all the cars you mentioned the J80 Land Cruiser is the most desirable.

A 4WD 95 Bronco is more desirable than a 2WD 4Runner.

You mentioned you have a Forester. Can’t you commute to work in that and keep the Bronco?
