Search floppy shifter in the Gen4 section. The piece that makes it floppy can also make it hard to shift. It's a detent the shifter follows in the center console. That area is the first place to look and at least narrow down where the issue resides. You can disconnect the cable there too so things can be isolated.

What Mike said above and it could also be the shifter cable bushing. You can get a nice replacement here -
