OEM Skid Plate mod, easier to access bolt head for the for skid plate recessed bolts

Simple mod to make the 4 bolts that are recessed for the factory skid plate easier to access, install, and remove.

1) Buy four, M8-1.25 x 75 mm Hex Cap Screws / Partial Thread, with nut, prefer flange nuts if one can find.
2) Cinch down nut / flange nut so it is it tight against the non-threaded portion of screw.
3) Add anti-seize, replace factory cap screw with longer cap screw.

The new cap screw head will protrude near flush with the skid plate surface.

will post pics if i am allowed, TBD if this thread start works.

Or you can just use a deep socket. The idea is to recess it so an impact wont damage the bolt head.

I actually did something similar to this mod many years ago, hit a rock, ripped one head off and the other one bent. The body of the belt bolt moved so much I couldn't get it out and the broke off one barely came off with a deep well socket lol. I can agree with you, from experience.
