Talking Donny B's 2008 Titanium 4Runner Sport 4X4 V6

I bought a new 4runner! OHHH YEAHH! :bouncy:

It was the ONLY 2008 they had on the lot! It was a Sport model in titanium silver none-the-less! It was meant to be! It had 13 miles on it after I test drove 4 of those miles.

Optional Equipment:
FE - 50 State Emissions
DJ - Premium AM/FM 6-Disc In-Dash CD Changer
$200.00
QW - Value Package Includes: Power Tilt/Slide Moonroof w/Sunshade, Double Decker Cargo System w/Cargo Net, Garage Door Opener w/Homelink, Auto-Dimming Rear View Mirror w/Compass, and Rear Spoiler w/Center High Mounted Stop Lamp
$1,500.00
RL - Daytime Running Lights
$40.00
TO - Weight Carrying Tow Hitch and Ball Mount Kit (V6 Models Only)
$430.00
CF. - Carpet Floor Mats/Cargo
$199.99
GN. - Cargo Net
$49.00
It also has the Tonneau cover too which is pretty nice.

Ok, as far as the money goes... I spent WAY more than I wanted to, but I also got A LOT more for my car (trade-in) than I expected, espcially since it was involved in an accident ($11,535 in damage)
Here's the breakdown:
Delivering Processing and Handling Fee: $685.00
Subtotal (incl. above options): $35,703.00
Extra Value Package MSRP Discount: - $1,033.00
Total Selling Price: $34,670.00 (ouch!)
Less Trade-In: $17,870.00
***
Now to interrupt... my car's KBB on EXCELLENT is rated at $16,700 and on GOOD at $15,000 for a trade-in. With my past experienced stealers usually offer what the GOOD says at best, now considering the car was in a collision I figured I'd get under that, sooo I was hoping for $15,000 at best going into it and was highly considering trying to sell it myself privately.
Now, since they gave me more than the excellent rating at $17,870... that also saved me in taxes which are a god awful 8% here in rip-off New York State. That saved me $1,429.60 on tax so it was like selling the car for $19,299.60 privately. It was a heck of a steal and I just couldn't pass it up! I guess it makes up with trying to negotiate 'cause they wouldn't budge 'cause they said they were already giving me more than what KBB.com said my car was worth. Whatever, I 'm happy, and it's only money, right!? On to the rest of the figures:
***
Cash difference: $16,800.00
NYS tax - 8%: $1,344.00 (I hate NY!)
title fee: $45.00
NYS Inspection: $10.00
NYS Tire Fee: $12.50
NYS lic and reg fee: $105.00
TOTAL cash price: $18,316.50
downpayment: $3,316.50 **
amount to finance: $15,000.00
$297.74 for 60 months (5yrs) **I put down this amount so that my payments would be under $300 a month. This way I can easily make double/triple payments, yet have that low payment for when times are tough. I may refi through my credit union, I just have to see what they'll give me for an intrest rate. My credit score is pretty good - 808, so I should be able to get a better deal. I just wanted to get the 4Runner and drive it home today, so I went through Toyota Motor Credit Corporation.

Ok, I apologize for these photos because I took them when I got the vehicle home at 9pm and it's dark out! I drove nice and smoothly (I love the ride!) down to a school about 2 blocks away and took some pics in the parking lot. More pics to come tomorrow in the daylight! I'm so excited. Ok, hopefully the pics work!:

p.s.
I deleted the last photo and my question/problem because they were already answered and solved in the following post. Thanks Uneek!

p.s.
In the rear is a box which I think is something to do with my rear hitch.. I haven't opened it yet and that bag in the photo is the other net I spoke of.
In the glovebox there's a rubber Toyota emblem which goes on my hitch and some kind of pin adapter of some sort which I think is also hitch related... I have to read my manual! More pics to be posted in Gallery tomorrow afternoon! I don't think I'm sleeping tonight, I keep peering out the window and running out to my new truck!
OHH and what's the space for in the rear on the RIGHT (if facing the rear) where the other power source is... it looks like something straps in there?? My jack and that is on the left side.
Congrats on your purchase and welcome to T4R. I think you're the first member with a 2008 on the forum.

For the glove box, the pocket above the door is the bottom part of the pocket. If you grab the bottom part where the tab is and lift, it's hinged and it will close. It's a bit unnerving and seems like you're going to break something, but there are tabs on the ends that locks the door in the open position for the pocket. The door doesn't close completely vertical, it'll be at an angle.

The box in the cargo area on the left is your ball mount, where the hitch ball goes.

The wiring harness in your glove box is for a trailer brake controller which plugs into the 4Runner's wiring over by the driver's kick panel.

The space on the right side of the cargo area is just additional covered storage space, similar to the little cubbies above the rear wheel well housing.

Thanks Uneek! I'm glad to be here! You guys on here are great with everything! ..though you all may be the death of me (or my bank account anyways) when it comes to mods! There's SO much I want to do now that I've discovered this site! It's all your faults! lol j/k

Thanks for the advice on the glovebox! I got it to work! I was playing with it a little bit but I just wasn't using enough force to move it up to close it. I didn't want to break it and just gave up figuring I was missing some piece. I like the 'lil feature though, it's pretty neat. I'm going to store my paperwork in that spot. I love all the little storage compartments that there are on this ride! What a great vehicle!

Id be curious to see how your hitch ball secured in that cargo space. It doesnt look like theres any room left in there beside the jack and tools.

Thanks man! I LOVE IT! Yeah, I bought it at Fucillo on GI. I traded in a 2006 Honda Civic EX Coupe w/Nav. and HFP Body Kit... best move I ever made!
I started off driving Jeep Cherokees (an '89 Limited and a '01 Sport which were actually good to me) and I traded the '01 for the '06 Civic because of gas prices (looking back: what a dumb reason.) That Civic got me 33-36mpg, it was great! I never felt totally right with it though, it was nice, but it's such a low-end vehicle. I missed all the aspects of owning a 4x4 SUV, so that was the reason for my early trade-in. I love the new truck! I'm going to have to take the long way to the golf course this morning!

I think he was just referring to the actual cardboard box that was sitting in my rear cargo area in the picture and not the actual cubby hole. I'm going to open it up before I head out here and see if it'll fit on the right side though in that 'lil cubby hole space.

Okay, I thought it was power tilt steering wheel. I had that in a previous car and my wife has it in her GX470 so I thought Toyota had finally added it to the 4Runners.

BTW, what color are the lights in your dash?

Very nice truck! The Titanium Silver is the best color for the SE. BTW. My 07 SE had 13 mi. when I took it of the lot too. Congrats on the new ride.

My New 2008 4runner Sport Woo Hoo

I got my 2007 late August. Sport Titanium V6, 4X4. Your ride looks great at nite. Wish they had that value option on my ride. The V5 alarm added a bit, that I didn't really care about. Pull off your license plate frames, untill you get your plates. Looks great.
