Recirculating Air Servo Won't Turn Off

My recirculating air "flap" will close and open. The issue is that when I press the button to close it, the flap will close, and the servo turns off, but then after several seconds it will turn on again trying to close the flap that is already closed. At least this is what I assume it is doing as it is cycling/running.

Anyone else experience this issue and/or if so, anyone know if what the fix is or if I should even be concerned. It is noisy...not clicking like a broken one...just hearing the servo working.

Thank you!

I would guess maybe the switch is going bad, or whatever it is that makes the servo stop when closed is going bad, that could be something in the servo or maybe something on the door, either way at some point it could make the servo die, or not.

So you could replace one or the other and if it solves the issue you're good to go if not then replace the other, or just wait until it doesn't work at all and try and fix it.

Replace the actuator. If the position sensor or stop in the actuator is bad, it will run. It is located top right behind glove box.

87106 looks right. If you can reach the connector and unplug it, diagnosis would be confirmed.

87106 is the first part of the part number for all of the actuators, it's the second part of the part number that is different for each one.

I would highly suggest contacting the dealer you're buying from along with your VIN number and let them tell you which one is the correct one.

I tried yesterday to find the part number you need but the diagrams on the dealer's website had conflicting info.

I apologize for delay in responding!

Many thanks!

I like the idea of disconnecting to zero-in on which part is needed. The door opens and closes, so it does seem that it is the actuator...I do need to confirm which one it is....
