2007 Toyota 4runner 4.0
Running down the highway and the engine surged to 4500 and all the dash lights came on and truck shut off. It would restart. Acted sort of like it had a bad battery. Long story short, we got towed to a local repair ship that said he wasnt reading crank signal and stated it was either chains or a crank sensor. Well I replaced the cranks sensor and it still won't start or stay running. Any ideas or clues before I tell them to put chains on it. I am currently 10 hours from home and getting a rental to get home. I am either going to have them fix it and drive it home or go back with a truck and trailer this weekend and bring it back home and figure out what I want to do. After the day I have had today, I am flustered and out of ideas. If it helps, I currently around the Champaign, IL and getting a rental car to get home
Attached is a video of what we are facing after the crank sensor was replaced.
