JBL stereo, speakers, maybe also sub replacement advice
For the past several months, something in the stock JBL stereo has been draining the battery in my 2004. I no longer daily drive it and sometimes sits for a week or more. So I've just been pulling the fuse for it while parked, just putting in for longer trips, and pretty over that.
Unsure if it's something in the HU itself, or the factory amp (rear passenger side qp one) causing the drain, but factory sub works fine. Front right speaker is blown, want to at minimum replace both front door speakers with new CarPlay compatible HU.
No rear backup camera, just want basics like keeping swc; planning on using Crutchfield to get correct harness adapter and dash kit and am leaning towards the Jensen CAR1013. Thinking since it's a relatively cheaper HU can splurge on speakers and amp a bit, so looking for advice there specific to our truck and either adding to or replacing factory amp, sub, etc too.
Thoughts on replacing factory amp, and how to wire it? For example a 4 channel, to power new front speakers and bridged for factory sub (what's ideal wattage and ohms there, or are there any slim ones to swap in there easily that're worthwhile?), then just use new HU out to power factory rears. Basically looking for bang-for-buck replacement here while gaining CarPlay, but very open to ideas or advice.
