V8 Rear Main Seal Job
Rear main seal on my 2003 V8 is leaking.
Local shop quoted it out and listed 3 parts. A torque convertor seal, rear main seal & and O ring ... but didn't give me part #s.
Are these the right parts #'s for my V8 and is there anything else to be done "while I'm in there"?

I know some people have success with that, even if only temporary, but it has to have 4WD actuator done anyway. So I'd prefer to replace the seals while it's all apart.

I have the v6 and not familiar with the v8 but isnt the v8 full time 4wd? Which actuator?

Well, some would say it's a good time to do an FJ transfer case swap. Expensive, but worth it imo. Electronic actuators can be problematic.

I have thought about that also, but in one of the videos I watched I think there was something about the front diff needing to be changed.
I'm not sure if this is correct or not but...

So would not having the ADD front diff cause an issue to the FJ case?

Yup. I have around 54,000 miles on my swap using the OEM 4WD front axle that is already in the 4Runner. The only issue I have had is having to replace the input shaft seal on the transfer case somewhere around 20k miles ago. My transfer case had 131k miles on it when I installed it, so that wasn't really a surprise.
Unfortunately, a lot of false information was spread by a now defunct company out of California because the owner was a crook. The FJ tcase does fine because it has an internal oil pump already, so the 4Runner front axle can be left in place and you can drive in 2wd without fear.

You can source these t cases from FJs obviously, but the 5th gen 4Runner has the same manual case. Mine is out of a 2012 SR5 4Runner.

I was wondering what my search on Car-Part.com for FJ cases was showing some 4 Runners.
Linking to another thread with some more info on those 5th Gen t-cases so I know where to find it:
VF4B Transfer Case Swap
So I am guessing what I want is the VF2A case. Right?

I haven't researched this in awhile, but the link you posted seems to be pretty close as far as applications. I think one of the other cases is for the SR5 with the part time electronic dial actuator, with no center diff lock. The other is the electronic dial actuator full time 4wd WITH the center diff lock, and you are correct about the VF2A being the manual J-shift. This is the case I did my swap with. I found a page in my 5th gen repair manual that confirms this is the manual shift case.

If your mechanic is going to take the Tcase apart in order to replace the three O rings for the actuator box, that should've showed up in your quote.
