Xreas suspension
So with 186,000 miles I’m taking the XReas suspension out of my “08 Sport. It’s not leaking, but I’ve added a lot of weight to my vehicle and I’m doing a Kings suspension lift.
My question is, can the system be removed and put back on? I know there are other trims that had the Xreas system so I was wondering if this would be worth something to someone or not.
Thanks!

Anything is possible but IMO the demand for used xreas parts is very minimal if at all.

From what I've seen over the years, once you uninstall XREAS, you are "opening" the system, this can only be done once. You risk air getting into the hydraulic fluid thus ruining it. I dunno, some folks seem to have luck reinstalling it and having no issues.. to them I say, awesome. I'd love to know if installing a 5th gen XREAS onto our rigs is doable, i want to say yes, I could be wrong.

I don’t think the Xreas suspension is terrible compared to other stock suspensions. But a lot of these fortune are older and a lot of people are lifting them with the suspension lift, make it necessary to remove them.

Xreas is probably fine when it is in good working condition. I had it on mine when I purchased my 4Runner used and really didn't notice it had no gas charge in the system. The non-Toyota dealer I bought it from replaced the drivers side front shock and obviously didn't understand the system or didn't want to take the time to recharge it, if even possible. When a shock leaks the system is compromised and it's costly to return it to proper working condition.
Could this system be installed on a 5th gen that originally didn't have it? I'm sure it could, but it would cost $1000's through the dealer and be a nightmare if not done by someone who understands it thoroughly.

My new Jap import doesn't have it (Still on its original suspension as far as I can tell), the previous one did and I can't notice any real difference. Spend money on quality tyres and you'll corner just as well even if it leans a bit.

I completely removed and discarded the entire system on two of my 4Runners.
On my 4WD it now has Icon Stage 2, on my son's 2WD I made the mistake of going with KYB. Wish I went with Bilstein, but the KYB front struts came with a complete assembly (springs already on). The front of the vehicle now bottoms out even when I slow-roll over parking lot speed bumps.
