Center support bracket for factory trailer hitch install

Greetings! I am in a bind and seeking help. I have already put out this question on the Lexus GX forum and have not gotten any answers/replies.

I have a 2008 GX470 and it came with the factory trailer wiring but no hitch. From what I understand, i need a center support bracket to install a factory hitch. This same part is used for installing a factory hitch on a 4th Gen 4runner as well. It seems that Toyota/Lexus has discontinued it. The part number is 089255-35870 Receiver Assembly, Hitch. Here is a link to a site with a picture. https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/...925-35870.html

Does anyone happen to have one they would be willing to sell or can anyone tell me where I can get this? There was one initially on the truck but when I had some body work done to the rear, it was removed and discarded. I already have the factory hitch.

Thanks for any help or advice!

Mike

I'm getting a Page Not Found 404 at that link you provided.

Have you tried any trailer hitch installers? Can-Am is well regarded for their expertise with hitches and tow vehicles. Here's their website. Send them an email and see if they can help you. Airstreams | Campers London | Travel Trailers for sale

Thanks for the response and the information, I will definitely look into it. I had not thought to check with a hitch installer but I will start with Can Am.

Here is another link with the part I am looking for. 08925-35870 Genuine Lexus Receiver Assembly, Hitch

If I do have some luck, I will definitely let everyone know in case there is anyone else in my predicament.

It's a shame the body shop threw away that part. I usually ask for any old parts to be returned to me and not discarded. They should have kept it until after you picked up your Lexus.

I have encountered the "obsolete NLA" (no longer available) entry many times over the years. Sometimes you get lucky on eBay. I have found that hitch installers can be very creative with a welding torch.

Good luck in your search.

I have that part, removed it from my '03 4Runner last year. It's a little rusty but could certainly be cleaned up and reused.

I am surprised it is no longer available. I have searched on Ebay but have not come up with anything. I know I could just purchase an aftermarket hitch but I hate to do so since I already have a brand new Lexus hitch sitting in my garage. If I can't find one, I do like the idea of finding a local hitch installer that would be willing to fabricate something.

Thanks so much for the suggestions!

Thanks Rduss! I got really excited but after doing some research, found that it won't work on the newer GX. Thanks, though, for reaching out!
