Sankei 555 Upper Ball Joints on 4th Gen. 4Runner

Has anyone installed Beck Arnley/Sankei 555 upper ball joints on their 4th gen./GX 470? Although listed to fit these SUVs, they also claim to fit Tundras and Sequoias. They're taller than my factory upper ball joints and there's an excessive gap between the control arm bore and snap ring (not snug).

The minute geometry change likely wouldn't be an issue but my concern is the ball joint working itself loose over time.

So the ball joint has up/down play in the bore? That'll wear out the control arm bore over time too. Return it, go OEM.

That's good advice. Do you know where I can find an OEM Toyota upper ball joint-only part number for body code GRN215 4Runners?

05,actually as i'm typing this, its actually been about two years i've done all the work to the truck which included the ball joints, i've put around 25k miles on them, and i've towed my 6x12 quite often for some offroad activities, so they've held up just fine.

That's really good to know. I've got Centric upper and lower ball joints installed right now (I changed them when I installed 5100s). Centric uppers are the only brand from Rock Auto that list a 4Runner/GX application only (no Tundra/Sequoia).

I've got a random noise coming from the front and so far I can't pinpoint what it is but I suspect it's either the Centrics or the Bilsteins. I'll leave the Centrics for now. I have upper and lower 555 ball joints stored away for when the time comes.
