HELP please
Been trying to straighten out my aftermarket rear camera issue and all of the sudden, I have no reverse, no signals front or back but the brake lights work, headlights okay, no third brake light.
I checked the fuses with a volt/ohm meter and they all had good continuity, but one fuse, a 10 amp fuse had 4-6 ohms resistance. So, I substituted new fuse, same reading.
All the other fuses in boxes with the clear windows seemed okay. Is there a specific fuse that controls the reverse and signals? Could I have cut a wire in the tailgate that would affect it?
The rear passenger directional/brake bulb is somewhat fogged but the filaments looked fine and it worked before this.
What do you guys think?
Thanks, B

update
Okay, fixed the third brake light with new bulb. Then the drivers brake light went out, replaced that. So the only thing left is the reverse lights and directionals. Tested all the fuses inside car and no break in continuity.

Anyone?
Anyone have any ideas? I would think it would not be the flasher since the 4 way flashers work fine.

No real ideas, but have you tried disconnecting all aftermarket electrics ant trying to get the truck back to normal? Seems like this all started with the camera install? Also, that 10A fuse took a hit. What’s that fuse for?

I will check; I disconnected the wiretap to power the camera. So, right now, I have brake, fog, and 4-way flashers working. But the reverse lights nor do the signals. I'm thinking...
It's not the flasher since the 4ways work, and I believe it's the same unit for both. The directional and signal bulbs are not wired, but tap off the brake lights via some sort of copper circuit in the tail lamp housing, so I'll clean up the contacts on the brake light and see if that helps.
I had two fuses that did not register zero continuity but around 4-6. I figured if they were bad, they'd have no continuity. Or am I mistaken? I have new bulbs on the way for the reverse lights...maybe I overloaded the circuit some way, but the filaments looked good. I wonder if I reset the car by disconnectnig the battery if that might do something. In the meantime I'll check the fuse and replace it. I have an extra.

Could you have damaged an original cable while installing the cable for the reversing camera?
For example by trapping it between some trim as it was clipped back in place, or disturbing the layout of cables in the rubber boot the cables go through to the tailgate.

Problem Solved
I checked all the fuses and Guage 1, I believe it was the top row on the left, was bad. Changed it and all is fine!

Those fuses need to be replaced. 4-6 ohms is a failed fuse. I know it sounds like it’s not much, but the circuit is expecting zero ohms there.
