New T4R, a few questions...

I picked up a '07 V6 last week from a small dealership. It was in a 'minor' front end accident (clean title), but they replaced the front bumper, headlights, among other things.

It drives great, but I've found a few annoyances:
  • The lights were pointed straight at the ground when I drove it at night for the first time (that was a fun ride home). I adjusted the driver's side height no problem, but the passenger side adjustment screw simply comes loose before actually raising the light. When screwed in further, it comes tight, but way too low.

    See video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MUJ...=Jaimelapoesie

  • I poured a full bottle of wiper fluid into the reservoir, then noticed a draining sound... seemingly all of the fluid drained directly through the system onto the ground. I thought maybe they simply didn't install the bottom tank, but it is actually there. What gives?

  • The dealership put new 265/70/17 AT20's on, and they rub like hell when backing up. Is it likely they are trying to cover something up with a larger tire, or do you guys think this was simply incompetence at work?

Can't help with headlights, but sounds like something is bent or broken from the accident where the adjustment screw attaches.

The wiper reservoir could have a crack in it from the accident and needs to be replaced...or if you're lucky maybe it's just a hose that isn't connected at the bottom of the reservoir.

The tire aren't that much bigger than stock and people install that size all the time on theses T4Rs, depending on where it's rubbing this can be solved either rather easily or with a little bit of work, if it's rubbing on the fender liners heating them up with a heat gun or a good hair dryer and pushing on them until they cool will get the clearance to stop the rubbing, if it's rubbing on the body mount then that involve a bit of work by cutting or hammering the area back to provide clearance, there's numerous post on "body mount chops" you should be able to find a few by doing a forum search.

Appreciate the response.

Best case scenario for the wiper reservoir came true!

Perhaps the accident damaged more than realized.
You can learn alot by getting under and carefully inspecting.
The body mounts should look symmetrical side to side and have same weathered look. Carefully look at all suspension parts for new replacements.
Did you get a CarFax report? It will show all prior legal and registered owners , their locations, some service history, etc. If vehicle changing ownership often perhaps it has some bigger issues?
