Cleaning Clear Plastic over Instruments

I try to be very careful in cleaning the clear plastic lens over the instrument cluster, but I still get small scratch and swirl marks that show up whenever the sun is able to shine right on it. It is distracting and even makes the cluster hard to read when the sun really shines on it. I have used microfiber, soft cloth diapers, lens tissues, etc, on my two 4Runners, but have still gotten the small scratches. My '05 isn't too bad yet, but I don't want it to get any worse as happened with my '04. I try to blow dust off before wiping the lens, but thus far all my efforts have failed to prevent these scratches from appearing. Does anyone know if any cleaning method will prevent more scratches and if anything is able to remove or polish out the marks? What is the plastic? Lexan? Lucite?

microfiber towels will also leave marks. If you can live with it, just use compressed air to blow dust out of the instrumentation panel.

I'll try the compressed air. What is "detailer" fluid? I don't know exactly what that is.

Thats a tough one , being into detailing this is one trick I have not figured out on cleaning the 4R . Mine is scratched to hell as well.

That's the stuff you use a few days after you've: clay barred the 4runner, applied cleaner wax, glaze, polish and wax.

It's supposed to bring back the lustre.

The 4runners too big for me. And so I typically just use a cleaner/wax like zymol.
