Bigger Brakes???

I just picked up a '04 v8 Sport 4x4 and was wondering...are different models bt. the SR5, Sport and Limited equiped with different size brakes. I read some posts that says this but I didn't see it on the Toyota website and bochure.
Can someone confirm the source? Thanks.

Yes there are different size brakes. Do a search. It has been discussed a couple of times.

Yup...SE models come with bigger front brakes (13.3" vs. 12.6").

Here is the link:

Hope this helps.

Once Brembo gets to work...it doesn't matter which one HAD the bigger brakes.

Depends On Wheel Size, I Think

I don't believe the info in the '03 chart is correct. My '03 Limited V8 w/17" wheels has the larger front rotors - I measured them.

While this is my only data point in this discussion, I believe it's very likely that all the 4th gen 'Runners with 17" wheels get the bigger front brakes, regardless of model.

This is consistent with good engineering practice and Toyota's policy for the 3rd gen cars, in which cars with 16" wheels got bigger rotors than 15" wheel equipped cars.

Best regards.

Strange, my friend's 03 ltd, with 17" wheels, doesn't have larger discs.
