Does anyone have Geico Insurance?
I have been looking at switching from State Farm auto insurance to Geico which is significantly cheaper. However, I was curious if the quality of service is as good. They seem to advertise their price, but unlike progressive they do not advertise their quality.
I would like to know if anyone has any good or bad experiences with the company prior to switching.
As always, thank you for your input!!

My wife and I have had them for 8 years. We've filed three claims with them in those years and have had no problems at all.

I have Geico now and have for a couple years. I switched from Progressive. I haven't had any problems out of them at all but I also haven't filed a claim with them.

I have been insured by GEICO for most of 50 years. They have always responded immediately and fairly to any claims. I don't know how they compare to other companies, but they are good.

?! ~50 yrs and you haven't checked other insurance companies??? You might want to look around. We routinely shop around our insurance every 5 yrs or so and many times have gotten better rates.
I've never used Geico, currently with Allstate.

My girlfriend has GEICO, and the gecko has been good to her - so far.
I have had USAA (being former military) for about twenty years; and I think they are superior to most other companies - especially since being member-owned. If you are eligible to join, I think they are worth looking into.

I switch every couple years, and right now I'm with Progressive, but I was with Geico before.
It was the easiest and simplest insurance experience I've had. I have never filed a claim with anyone, but when I needed roadside, I called the number and that was it, the tow truck came and took care of everything, I didn't have to pay anything to be reimbursed later, and only signed the work orders.
I only switched to Progressive because they gave me a break on the price. When I switch insurance again in a few years, I will definately give Geico serious consideration.

Hard to beat USAA. Geico is good but they can't touch USAA.

I've had a different experience with USAA. My father was military long ago, so I can get coverage with them and did use them until I was about 23. I started shopping Progressive and Geico along with USAA at that age and ever since USAA is always at least $200 more per 6 month policy (usually quite a lot more than that). I now flip between Progressive and Geico about every 2 years as they seem to change which one is cheapest. Never filed a claim with either one, though, other than to fix a windshield chip. Maybe USAA just offers better rates directly to those who served in the military and doesn't extend those same rates to their family members.

You might be right about that. There is a difference between who can purchase their products/services and who can actually be a member.
I had USAA as a teenager - because my dad was career military, and never thought their rates were all that great (at least at that stage in my life).
After I became a commissioned officer in the military, I was then eligible for membership and have been with them ever since. Yeah, State Farm and other companies have solicited my business.....but you should see the look on their agent's face when I tell them I have USAA.
Oh, yeah; USAA 'rebates' ten percent of your premiums back to you as a safe driver dividend if you don't have any claims for the year. When will GEICO, State Farm or Allstate do something like that?

Allstate rebates back 5% every 6 months in addition to all the other standard discounts.

All I know is that Progressive wanted $290 for the same insurance a month as Geico wanted $119 for. That is a big enough difference to make me a firm believer in Geico.

Ugh, I don't have my data here but I can help you find the best rate, judging by what we provide.
PLEASE be aware that Allstate isn't all it is hyped up to be. READ policy coverage THROUGHLY, you will not be sorry.
We routinely beat Geico by 19%. WE do not skimp on coverage either, for example, there is alot of homeowner policy's that do not cover the contents in the home in the event of a fire or flood (if you have coverage for flood).
I will get back to you.
Feel free to PM me if you want to.
For those that live in Illinois and are looking to save money PM me. (We don't have a license for other states, so we cannot sell it to you personally, but we can refer an agent to you)
In the mean time, check out this video.

I've been with USAA since day 1, 18 years now. Although I do agree with the others about thier rates being a bit on the high side for the younger drivers, but once you get over the 25 years of age hump, and you're obviously a good driver with a decent record, the rates drop tremendously. Right now, I have our 05' 4runner and our 07' Mazda 3GT fully covered, $250 deductible, rental car reimbursement, free windshield repair, all for about $90 a month...for both cars! In addition, whenever we've had to file a claim with them, the check was in our hands the next day, no questions asked. My family has been with them since the 60's, when my dad was a bomber pilot with air force. In the entire family line up, we have 3 houses, 4 motorcycles, 1 boat, about 10 cars, and all personal property covered with them. My property insurance is less than $40 a month, with coverage beyond $25,000 of the value, including coverage for anything on the property at the time of the claim.
But, you've got to be a decent driver with them. Otherwise, they'll throw the book at you!
Their bank is great too for auto loans. I used them for the first time to buy the 4runner. I basically told them what I would like in terms of rates/terms/amount, the bank check was in my hands the next day, all I had to do was fill it out, sign it, and give to the seller. I honestly didn't think they'd give me the rate and term I wanted, as it was about 1/2% below the best rate I'd seen in my research. but they did, on the spot. It's a great feeling to walk into a dealership with a blank, certified bank check in your hands.... It lets YOU take control of the buying process. Saved me about $2,400 from the purchase price, on a used car. Because, there isn't a car dealer out there that will allow a signed bank certified check walk out of their showroom.
