offroad lights and intakes??

Hey guys, you helped me on decideing to get the cornfed leveling kit now for some more upgrades:

First 6" round driving lights. Here's what I am looking at.

KC hilites slimlites driving light system (titanium color)
PIAA 520 SMR series driving lights
Hella 500 sereis driving lights
Westin Driving lights

Note these will be mounted in a Westin ultimate bull bar so they have to around 6" or less. I would love to get hella black magics but they are too big. Any suggestions or any of you guys running any of these.

Secondly, Air intakes.

K&N performance intake kit (polished)
K&N Air filter panel
TRD Air Filter

I would like as much performance as I can get, but don't want the intake to be too loud under the hood. I have no plans to change exhaust systems, because they just don't sound that good on a V6 in my opinion.

Thanks for the help!

Anybody? I have been doing more research and there are mixed reviews on some older posts on intakes. Couldn't find much that was recently posted.

I really would like some advice on the lights. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

I'm a big fan of Lightforce lights as well as some other more $$$ lights but since we're looking at more of the economical lighting I would recommend the Hella 500 series as they're definitely easy to work with and well proven by many owners.

Air Filters... Never use K&N, if you need one get the True Flow filters.. By far 100000000x superior to anything I've used. Bar none..

Good luck

What about this intake?

http://www.shopatron.com/product/par...298.6683.0.0.0

It looks like it goes in the stock airbox and has a different intake tube going to it. I like that because it probably isn't much (if any) louder than stock. The XDI filter systems are probably a good bit louder because they talk about how good it sounds. That wouldn't bother me at all, but as the name says, it's the wife's runner!!

Will it work for an '07 4.0 liter V6? It says 02-06 3.4 liter?

I had a 99 eclipse GS-T whick I highly modded and the first item I put on it was an Injen intake with open filter coming from the turbo and it was LOUD. It sounded awesome!! You could really here when that turbo spooled up. That's not what i'm looking for here. I'm just looking for a higher quality intake that could give me a couple extra ponies and mayby a little better MPG.

Also found the TRD intake. It says for off highway use only. What is that about? Would either one of these affect my warranty?

http://www.trdsparks.com/displaypart...&parts_id=1338

Looks good!

that link you provided only applies to the 3.4L and will not work withe the 4.0L that you have in your 4runner.

as for other mfg filters, I would not recommend anything else but True Flow. They are by far the best solution available outside of the factory filter and is actually better both in filtering out gunk and giving you better performance.

Hell if you need to replace your stock filter, I would not recommend getting another stock filter but rather push the True Flow so that says a lot (well at least for me).

Northridge Toyota sells True Flow so if you're interested check them out (call em). Link here

Good luck

Don't waste you money on hi flow air kits , maybe do a TRD filer if you have to , for the money they dont not produce anything. It's a bunch of hype.

If you do get the Piaa 520s, let me know if they fit in the Westin UBB. I've been wanting Piaa 520 also, but no one seems to have tried it.

Looks like it should fit height wise...

I've pretty much decided against getting an intake kit. They are expensive and it seems that they produce little but look good under the hood.

As for the lights I went with the KC slimlights. I like the look of the titanium color and the ice blue lamp. The color looks close to Galactic grey!! I also like their rock covers and they all seem to be well established companies with great offroad lighting products.

I got the bull bar on yesterday (looks incredible!) I will post pics when the KC's and CF leveling kit come in. Thanks guys!

I have, they fit just fine. Crappy picture but they fit the Westin Bull Bar just fine. Very easy to install. And the button from PIAA fits pretty well in a blank slot.

Hey ambidextrous, what kind of lift do you have? It looks pretty high. Is it 3/2?

You're welcome.

Here's some better pics I just snapped.

Plenty of space behind the lights.

Unfortunately it looks like I'll be taking the bull bar off before too long. I am joining a 4x4 club and on my first serious trip with them the bull bar took a couple hits from entering ditches. It just seems to cut down my angle of attack too much. See the damage below. I can attest though that it is built fairly well. The mounting plates did bend though a little.

Great pictures! There is more clearance than I expected on the 520s with the UBB.

Wow that skidplate took a beating. How come you didn't take it off?
