4 runner are "chick" cars!

I have a 2001 black 4 runner sr5. Guy's at work are calling it a chick ride! Do I need to lift it or hang some ball's from the reciver?

They're compensating for small junk.

I'd have to agree on that one.

If you want a more aggressive look, think about a 2/1 lift with 265/70/17 A/T tires, or a 3/2 lift with 285/70/17 A/T tires.

My advice is

don't be so insecure about 'what the guys at work' say about your 4Runner. You know what you have...one of the best, true off-road SUVs made.

If they're so ignorant or jealous about your rig, who should care about their opinion anyway?

Be a leader, not a follower.....

Let me tell you why I love my 4Runner......as mentioned above, it's one of the best off road vehicles on the market, plus it has a sense of sophistication to it. Say on the weekend you wanna go out with the guys and put it in 4WD for a little off road action, then later that night you decide to clean it up and take the lady out for dinner and a movie.....it's perfect for either situation. Plus, you don't have to worry about her climbing up 4 flights of steps just to get into it. So add the lift if that's what "you" want, not what the guys at work want. This is your vehicle, not theirs....be your own person. Also, how much are they spending in gas? A duramax dually.....sucks to be him right now. Just my 2 cents

100%. I would add when the weathers bad and your loved one is driving there's no worries about tearing up the part-time 4wd by being in 4hi on the dry patches. There's no worries about it being such a monster in the parking lot that it'll come home dinged and the list goes on & on.

When I poke around on the Jeep forums or the Trooper forums there's always somebody who's embarrassed becaused the were saved by a full-sized truck or a 4Runner. When the 4Runner gets stuck you kinda deserved it

When towing, 4wheeling or in bad weather the 4Runners rock! When none of those conditions exist it's a great daily car.

Your work buddies are just jealous or so uninformed they don't understand how cool your T4R is...

Good posting, don't listen to what anyone else says about your ride. All that matters is what you think about.

Sorry you have to work with such re****s. (funny how it edits insults, what if I speel it like this) SDRATER?

Perhaps you can get them fired and hire a 4Runner fan to replace them.

I will call them "women" but I have not seen any vehicle that is "man" exclusive.

I've seen women driving anything and everything these days , H2's , land Rovers , ect..... YES even mini vans on occasion.

I was at the carwash the other day and you should have saw the blonde ( woman ) that pulled up in a white lifted F350 diesel.............jeeze . And we all know that is a "women's" truck all the way .

Drive what you like , enjoy the heck out of it .

What Trooper forum did you check out? I tried signing up (sorry to be off topic) at ITOG.org (or is it .com) but they dont let just anyone sign up, even though I do own a Trooper in the Philippines. I'm doing a little research and want to know what's a good Trooper forum so I can get some info about the USA Troopers.. Am kinda interested in gettin a used one for a daily beater. Gotta save the Runner for those special times.

I'm jealous! Diesel! I loved my '99. Aside from the fact it used almost as much oil as your diesel it rocked. (The 98-99 gas burners have an oil consumption issue.) The Torsen 4wd and having ATRAC on the 4Runner make it one step better than the Trooper which was pretty good compared to others in it's day. I put the Superwinch Premium hubs on mine so I could use low-range at the boat ramp and help with gas mileage. I also had some Calmini suspension goodies and OME rear springs.

The first forum listed is the one I still look at the most and it's pretty good. The Trooper community at Edmunds.com is pretty active and not half bad.

Some of the Edmunds communities are populated by people I just don't get:FOS:

A few years ago a hacker destroyed ITOG. It came and went for a while but it never got quite right. It seems to be gone now.
Good luck
