Nice....
I got off work early today, so I picked up lunch, then went for a hike. While getting some food, I saw this puppy in the parkinglot. If anything were to ever happen to my 4runner, I would be all over the Trail team FJ. I love the look.

I love them as well. Too bad they are going for $32,000+ or I'd be all over one. That's too much cashola for a truck that I can't see out of (plus we have a baby on the way)!

They are tempting aren't they?
I was looking at one in the showroom whle getting my 4Runner. It was a 'Crawler' Edition with tricked out rims and aggressive tires and custom suspention. Was only 29.5k though.

those are great cars, my buddy i usually off road has one and they are really capable.
personally i would skip the trail team edition, there is nothing way special about it, and just get as basic a one as possible with all the off roading options, then with that saved money you can do what you feel is needed
i have seen/ off roaded with some pretty awesome fjs recently
unfortunately where I live it is one of the "in" cars and I cannot count how many I see driving around that will undoubtedly never hit the trail (but then again a 4runner is much worse in this category....) so sad

I love them too. They have a "cool factor" that the 4Runner doesn't I love they have the A-trac dialed to 'aggressive' when in low-range (although mine has always done what I've asked of it).
I hate that they don't have the Torsen t-case with the auto. I hate the back windows don't go down for the dogs. In spite of the 4Runner being a better size for my life I would have an FJC if it wasn't for those two things.
Maybe I'll get my dream vehicle someday, a real 4-door FJC (stretched) with a 4Runner t-case and a diesel. Yeh, right...

It is a great off-road machine, but for all purpose - 4Runner suits me best. I can (and do) take my runner on the trail, then I put it trough the car wash and drive it same eve to a fancy restaurant or opera, where FJ with its in-your-face styling would not fit in. FJ is capable vehicle and its styling lives no doubt of that, but for my taste, stealthiness of 4R is the ticket.

Look at the sign directly above the roof rack of the FJ. I think that is a good clue. ;)

I went for an oil change last week and they have that exact truck in the dealer. Sticker was 34,500 with a 6 speed. The shifters are brushed aluminum and look awesome. I seriously thought of driving it, but I'm waiting for the soft top.

If the FJ's had a 4.7L option there would be one in my garage.
I like the white. Nice...

For me, the FJC does not have enough towing capacity and it's wheelbase is even shorter than the 4Runner.
The lack of 4 doors and the visibility issues also do not help.
Just not a good fit for my needs at this time.
It is a nice vehicle for those people whose needs can be filled by what this model has to offer.

Here is the write-up about it from autoblog. Funny thing, I remember seeing this at the auto show last Jan now.

I would love to see a 4dr , with better visibility , and a 4.7 as an option . These are really growing on me , I saw a video of 1 in stock form tackling something called "Hells gate " ( i think ) it was amazing .
These are really growing on me , this morning I saw a silver one with about 3" lift and bigger tires , thats the 3rd mod'd FJ I've seen around so far. Pretty cool.
My stepson want one really bad , but maybe I CAN afford one once he stop's "borrowing" money from me all the time ....lol.
