Clunk clunk down the road

Driving about 45 when all of a sudden i heard a loud clunk clunk, and i could feel the floorboard shaking in sync with the clunk. I thought something had just gotten stuck under there so i pulled over. As i slowed down the clunking slowed down, so i thought something might have caught onto my tire or something. When i came to a stop the clunking did as well. I got out and saw nothing underneath and all tires seemed to be fine. I looked around and didnt see anything unusual on the ground. Roads were smooth too. Started driving again and everything seemed okay.

Am i missing something obvious or what just happened?

Any idea if the e brake would have caused it to happen earlier? I had been driving for about ten minutes already, maybe i pressed the e brake somehow at the stoplight.

thanks for the help.

I'd driven maybe 1/2 miles with no signs when mine did it. I thought I'd run over something that stuck in the drivetrain. Checked all the wheels then went to move it ahead a foot to check again and noticed the ebrake. Duh.

AH dang it...my account was hacked. No that didn't happen to me, but it happened to my friend. He told me that he had been driving for a few minutes too when it happened.

Probably was, I didn't know that happened when you drove with the e-brake.

On second thought i remember hitting a raccoon, he probably went for a ride on my rims, hitting his tail in the tire well. Then when i stopped, he left.

the 08 beeps at you if you start to take off with the ebrake on. Nice feature in my opinion, and apparently something else that is new on the 08.
