Anyone? 03 4R AC blows hot on driver side cold on passenger side

Has anyone experienced this problem and found the fix? My '03 has 115k miles, bought it new and the only problems I have had is with the AC. Had a bad relay that caused the flashing AC light and now this problem that occurred a few days ago...otherwise an outstanding product from Toyota and yes I will buy another when I am able to wear this one out.

Haven't experienced it, but sounds like a malfunction in the dual zone climate control. Stupid question: is the system in the dual mode ("Dual" light would be on)?

Even with dual zone, I don't think it's capable of blowing drastically different air. I think the dual zone just pumps more of the air (whether hot or cold - whatever is coming out) to one side than the other. So, it could be some other sort of damper control in the ducts behind the dash. Does this happen regardless of the mode it's set for (upper vents, floor vents, mix, defrost, etc.)?

thanks for your reply toto

It's not a dual zone system and it does it in all modes, defrost, floor etc. I think it is a servo motor for the air mix control but I am not sure how to get to it or test it. I actually got that info from a site called justanswer.com If anyone can tell me how to find and test the servo motor I would appreciate.

Found this in an 06 manual, but I don't think it's that different on the 03.

To orient you with the location of this system, the "Blower with fan motor sub-assembly" is located behind the glovebox.
