Post Full details of the 2009 4Runner changes

Full details of the 2009 4Runner changes have been posted at the 4Runner History website.

Some items that have not been discussed here already include:

The Differential Gear Ratio is 3.727 (retrofit anyone?)

RR Diff Lock and A-TRAC switches (Trail Edition only) are located in the blanks in the center console next to the DAC switch.

The downhill assist control (DAC) indicator light and washer indicator light have been discontinued.

The back door power window switch has been relocated from the center cluster to the console (near where the optional cigarette lighter goes).

The shape of the area around the sliding roof switch on the overhead console has been changed.

There will be two 12V accessory power points up front.

"The Differential Gear Ratio is 3.727 (retrofit anyone?)"

That's the same 3.73 Ratio as before but with the exact #value Listed and not rounded up.

The ring and pinion did not change for 2009 model

Exactly and therefore if retrofitting it out back, you wont need to regear the front. With the 3rd gens the locker equipped rigs had 4.30 gears and the non-locked 4.10.

looks like they went cheap on relocating the rear window switch. they basically just plugged up the hole with a piece of plastic instead of changing the whole centerpiece.

We must be getting near the end of the cycle for the 4th gen
That looks like a G.M fix not Toyota. If 2009 is the last year that would make a little sence but why not just leave it alone then ?
I don't get it either

The 2007/2008/2009 FJ Cruiser is Also Exactly the same as the 2009 (TE) 4runner rear locker
So the retrofitting should/could have allready begun years ago
