I have a 40 series flowmaster on my V6 and really enjoy it and adds a mildly noticeable amount of get up and go.

Headers are a bit overkill and the worst HP gain for the money since headers and the install are pretty pricey. You'll gwet a few ponies in the midrange but it's hardly anything noticeable but if you have a supercharger then it's a different story.

Please advise How you Get " Cold Air" From an Intake That Is Under the Hood In the engine compartment???Seems That there Is alot Of Heat There ....Not trying to Be an Ass But it makes No sense ..and By Surrounding the air filter in a Box does not all of sudden make the heat non existant..or moving the air filter 16 inches to the right doesnt make the air cold .....Maybe A snorkel Could be considered A cold air Intake because it actuall receives air from OUTSIDE A Closed engine compartment.. I dont Know So Please educate me on this one....

The stock air intake on the T4R pulls air from the fenderwell just like the Volant CAI and not from under the hood. If the stock gets air from the same place as the CAI, then why pay $250-$300 or more for a new CAI?

To compare the Volant and the stock setup:

The Volant has a smoother tube for the air to flow. The stock had ribs in places that would most likely cause air to eddy and might restrict the flow some. In race cars they port and polish the intake manifold to increase air flow, so I am thinking this might be an advantage for the CAI on this point.

The stock box has a better seal to the outside air surrounding it. The Volant has this gasket that doesn't seal well around the tube that runs from the box to the intake manifold.

Both pull air from the same location (passanger side fenderwell. The Volant does not have a seal to the fenderwell and if I remember correctly, the stock set up does. It looks like the air is received from the grill and is pulled through a channel above the wheel well.

The Volant sits forward just a bit from the stock box location and I was hoping would add more room behind it for a second battery.

The Volant has a high flow air cleaner element that suppose to has more surface area and air flow through it easier. This is probably the biggest advantage of the CAI system.

hope this helps...

LOL! I used to be a ricer! HAHAHA..... Anyhoo, a real cold air intake system generally extend your intake tube into the bumper or somewhere outside the engine compartment (preferably having the airfilter face down pointing to the ground) allowing to such cooler, less dense air into the engine when the vehicle is in motion. It supposedly be designed to decrease the temperature of the air entering your car to take full advantage of your engine

Get a magnaflow I used to have a gibson cat back on my f150 did nothing for gas milage or power and it wasen't much louder then stock I had the local muffler shop put a magnaflow muffler on and cut the resonater off and what a differance. as far as cold air intake I have a k&n it went on really easily and works well considering it is half the price of the trd stuff.
