Unhappy Help- High Pitched Sound

Hi all-

Has anyone experienced a very high pitched faint sound inside their 4runner? The sound is continuous. It occurs with/without the radio. If the battery is on, the sound is present. I've been to the dealer 5+ times, no luck with a resolution.

I am beginning to lose my mind when I'm in the truck.

Any ideas?

Are you sure the noise isn't coming from your engine bay? I have a high pitched whining sound coming from my engine bay. Not sure what it is.

Isn't the sub powered all of the time? I'd try pulling fuse 18 and 28 from the underhood compartment and see if that gets rid of it. In my '07 manual those are the two fuses that are related to audio. That would rule out an eletronic whine.

I spent some time last night climbing around to find where the sound was coming from. It seems as though the sound is coming from under the glove compartment area? There is a cover which I removed. The sound is definetly coming from that location.

What could it be?

Is there an amp there? Can't think of anything else offhand that would be in the area and causing a high-pitched noise.
