i have a mouse in my trunk!?!

thanks for looking guys,

i have a 03 limited 170K miles and there is a SQUEEK when driving, seems to be coming from the rear. the faster you go (5-30) you can hear it (30+ its becomes a constant squeek that is quieter.

i have greased the drive shaft. and checked the front of the rotors to see if there was something rubbing, but now i am lost on what to check... what do you 4rd gens think?

Well you said 170k miles. Thats when wheel bearings and stuff start going. I think you've established its a moving part by stating the sound increases with speed. You said you checked the front brakes...don't know why you would do that if you say its coming from the rear. How about checking the rear brakes instead?

I think I have the same problem you have. I have an '04 4wd with 77k. I hear a squeak when I drive about 40+mph and it gets louder the faster I drive. It seems like it's coming from below the rear passenger seats but can't be sure.

Can it be the rear brakes as I don't hear any squeaking when applying the brakes. On the contrary it's when I'm driving when I hear it.

If anyone has any other ideas on what to check that'd be great.

probably not related... but just to throw out an idea... what about the stereo? I've seen friends cars that have a wire not grounded properly and the faster they drive... the louder the sound of ?electric current? comes out of their speakers?

(I realize you're probably talking about a mechanical squeek... so disregard this if this doesn't apply).
