Anyone buy new TR4 recently?
just looking to see if anyone has bought within the last month or so. I noticed online that a lot of the dealers still have 08s on the lot. I'm looking for the best deal possible on a 4WD SR5. Ive seen them as low as 25500 with the recent Toyota rebates. Wondering if the price is going to go any lower with the economy in bad shape?

I bought my '08 Sport this past November.
MSRP: $35, 854
Invoice: ~$31, 600
Paid: $28,500 (no trade)
I'll bet you can do better since the latest sales #'s came out.

that is what I'm looking for. Pricing below invoice. I know these things are selling well. Gotta find out how low they will go.

Do your homework. Find one you want, get all the sticker info and print out the Kelly Blue Book info. Then make them an offer you feel good about and stick to it.
I didn't need a car but told them I'd buy right then if we could come to terms. After they countered my offer for the 3rd or 4th time (I never budged from my original offer), I stood up, picked up my coat and began to walk out. They bit.

Bought an 08 Shadow Mica in Georgia right after thanksgiving when they were having their 4,000 cash back deal
MSRP 32,500
Paid 24,500 out the door with tax
it had the convenience package and the moon roof, homelink, leather steering wheel, 17 wheels and double decker storage
My advice to you is call as many dealers as you can around the area and see what they are offering and just let them know that you are asking each dealer. They will try to bid on your business instead of you going in and them sucking you in at the dealer. Same works by faxing all the dealers

I haven't bought a new one but I am actively trying to buy a used one and the dealers are pretty much doing the opposite of selling a new one. They have them all over priced and won't budge on the prices even though a few places have had them for sale since march and july. It's ridiculous when we see how much they are chopping off new ones.

same thing..looking at new and used. Used are holding high prices. Kinda ridiculous. That is why Ive started to look at new models. If the difference is only 2-3 grand..might as well buy new. Seems like dealers aren't budging much on CPO'd TR4s.

where are you located? If anywhere near the southeast, Toyota of Easley (South Carolina, near Greenville) flat gives base SR5s away. I know of 2 guys that were out the door below 24k. I saw their receipts.

I was at the local dealer the day after thanksgiving and this is what they had on "special"
2008 White SR5, 4x4, V8, sunroof and navigation $29,990
If I remember correctly, the MSRP was around $37k.

I take it that's for a 4x2 with the V6? Right?

I assume 4x2? Not bad pricing though! I'm up in NJ..but would gladly go down south for a good deal.

From what I'm seeing in this thread (including my own experience posted earlier here), it looks like 20% or better off the sticker price is very doable.

Just shop around and take your time. You should be able to get a great deal on a truck nowadays with dealers not moving inventory like they used to. Not a Runner but my brother just picked up a '08 Duramax with a sticker of $45,000 for $33,000. Deals like this are not uncommon on anything that is not labeled, fuel efficient. Just go dealer to dealer playing them against each other. You should be able to get a fantastic deal right now.
