What was _______ (looked at some 4Runners today)
To add another thread to my expedition, I went and saw some 4Runners today and was very impressed and loved the way they rode. I noticed a couple things that I couldn't figure out though. In the backseat, behind the center storage thing was a little ring thing that folded out but I couldn't immediately figure out what it is used for. It was below the air vents that go to the back.
Also, where the dome light is was an LCD screen, but it wasn't lit up with anything and there were no buttons, so I wasn't sure what it was for.

That silver (mine is silver) ring is actually used for a trash bag holder. I dont use it and don't think many people do.
For the dome light question, I don't understand what you're saying? An LCD screen on the ceiling?

Yes there was an LCD screen on the back of the dome light on the ceiling. It was blank though, I wasn't sure what it was supposed to be displaying on there or how I enable it.

no it's just those basic LCD's like the one on the front center console that displays temp, time, MPG, etc. Except it's on the center ceiling dome light and only the rear passengers can see it.

There should be a DVD player in the center console.

The LCD screen is for rear-seat audio. It should also come with a remote. Wireless headphones can be purchased from Toyota I believe, and people in the back can listen to a different type of audio than the front seat passengers. I have it in my 03, and have personally never used it, not even sure how it works, but I know that is what it is for.
I'm sure you could Google it and find more information, and the dealer should also be able to explain it if he is knowledgeable.

Chronic is right! The passengers in the back can listen to the radio via headphones while the CD player is playing and vice versa. My friends that ride with me hate my cd's so they listen to the radio and when i put on the radio station i like, they lurk thru my cd's and ask me if they can listen to it vs. the radio.
