No matter what model 4Runner you have...have them black letters out.
Unless you're a Cadillac w/ a white wall ring.
I don't know what year 4Runner you have, but I'm going to assume a 1999 because of your s/n.
I would suggest 265/75/16 Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos.
Just print out the price & picture of the tires you want from Tire Rack & go to your local tire shop & see how close they can price match Tire Rack.
Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo with UNI-T AQII P265/75/R16

I have ALWAYS had black tires. Until, my 05 4R SE. These are my first tires with white and I LOOOVE them.
I think it depends on what look you're going for. If you want a more rugged look, go white out, if you want a cleaner look, go black out.

Agreed, white out. We pay enough $$ for new rubber, you might as well let the world know you got the real deal and not some nock off...

White letters are indeed a more sporty look. I have run them in the past and got tired of keeping them clean. I vote for the stealth blackwall out look.

Both my 2nd gen and 3rd gen were SR5's and the RWL's on the ouside looked a bit out-of-place so I always put the RWL on the inside. Now, with my 4th gen Sport, the RWL's look good on the outside since there are other aspects of the body design that seem to compliment it.
Just my 2 cents...

Just leave them the way they are. when it comes time to change tires then you decide in or out. I actually wanted to flip mine at time of purchase at dealership but they wanted another 60-80 bucks to do it. You can spend that extra cash on something else. I have the se and it looks okay but I'm into the clean stealth look. On another note when you hit a curb with white letters your either gonna get em scuffed or lettering starts to break down. I should know my girl always does it and I hate trying to clean it up. Anyways white letters out just adds more to your cleanup time. Can't wait to dump the dunlops and get some decent tires.

i agree, the white out will get scuffed when /if you hit curbs,... or rocks off road, then theyll look like wide white walls. just kidding , if you like the white lettering, by all means , show it. its your ride.

white in, i've seen to many runners with white out that once it gets scuffed it looks like crap.

Sport Editions look better with the white letters out, IMO.
As far as scuffing...well, if the white letters get scuffed up, they clean right up with a brillo pad or some Fantastic and a bristle brush. The while is embedded into the rubber, not "painted" on, so they'll always look great if you clean 'em up after scuffing them up.

white
yea, but if they get scuffed enough times & hard enough , you can scrape the black right off down to the white beneath. truth be known, the bfg at tires on one of my older vec. did start to resemble white walls after enough times offroading , you can rip the letter right off. but as long as you watch your driving, it will be alright.

White letters OUT.
Own some Wesley's Beach-White for keeping the letters clean and shiny.
