Question Disable TPMS,

Is there a way to disable TPMS, on 04 4 Runner, I am putting FJ wheels on my truck and I don't need to purchase TPMS sensors, can I get a rid of the yellow light?

Thank you,

Not that I have seen. Some alternatives would be to switch over your factory wheel sensors to the new rims (they should come with some already), buy some more (already said you dont want to), or maybe off chance take dash apart and disable the LED warning light for TPMS. I am interested in seeing if there is a way to disable the light too.

Just disable the indicator light...either pull the bulb or it should be a simple one wire snip.

I would like to do this too. The combination of larger tires and new exhaust got rid of my spare. I had it sitting in the garage for 3 months and the light never came on once. A couple days after I sold my stock wheels and tires (with the sensor still in the spare, since I no longer am carrying one) the light came on, dealership says its the spare. Is there any way to trick it or something? Not to comfortable cutting wires! I guess removing the bulb would be ok, while I am in there might as well swap out the orange leds....

It would be nice to keep the TPMS, but only use it on the 4 tires. Anyone know if that is possible?

I believe it is an LED that is soldered on. He would have to heat it up with an iron and pull it out.

You could always do the pipe bomb mod, where you put the one sensor in a piece of pvc pipe, fit it with an air fitting, seal, pressurize.

Then just cut the pink with black wire (2006-2009, prolly the same for 2003-2005) coming out of the tire pressure warning ecu pin #6, located in the passenger kick panel.
