HID headlight malfunction

Hello everyone, Iv got a question for those of you that own h11 HID kits from xenondepot: Do you experience problems with your lights when heavy or consistent rain has occured? I ask this because it was raining yesterday consistentally and I am experiencing problems with my passenger side hid lowbeams, when i turn on my headlights the first time only the driver side light fires up and if i switch the lighs on and off at least 5x's then both lights will fire up. Has anyone experienced this similar problem with this product?

I haven't had any problem with mine. Did you contact them to see what they say?

White Harness

Install And Review Of XenonDepot 4300k HID Kit For 2006 4Runner

via 4RunnerRon

2Crunk,

Do you have (1) or (2) of these white harnesses?

4RunnerRon's HID Kit & Uneek's HID Kit on his 2004 Camry only has (1) harness.

Uneek's Camry has the same intermittent issue, but nothing near what you're occuring.

Uneek & I have the HID Kit on our 4Runners w/ (2) white harnesses & we haven't had a problem.

I'm pretty sure Josh (HB 4x4) has (2) white harnesses. The only difference of Josh's HID Kit compare to mine, his ballasts are bulkier & I believe his bulbs are no longer made by Phillips. And a heck alot cheaper.

I would PM Steve (XenonDepot) & ask him for solutions.

"I would PM Steve (XenonDepot) & ask him for solutions"

x2

or ask for a replacement..

Thats the problem with ballast driven lightings. Actually, the lamp(HID) will exprience different stages before entering a steady state. And the ballast has to be configured differently at different stages. There is a controller that is capable of flexible configuration( my old skol). In these modern times a "digital controller" is used( its built in the ballast).. and they call it Digital Ballast System. or Digital HID.

So a single malfunctioning part in the ballast may fail to ignite the bulb... For example: The takeover current is not reached because of a faulty storage capacitor.

If the connections are ok
IMO, its a defective ballast..

DUe to a nasty Winter I finally got to check and PM a similar issue with my driver's side light. It was the relay that got fried on mine, so I just ordered a replacement ($9.99) from xenondepot.

They have some very easy to follow trouble shooting sheets on their web site so give them a buzz.

I miss my HID running properly........Hopefully within the next week I will have it back up. Also got a 9006 set for my fogs to do in a month or so.

K.C. I have two white harnesses, one for each side of the headlights. Also, my bulbs are not made by phillips and the picture of darkie3495's ballast looks just like mine.
