V8 4x4 owners with borla/gibson exhausts near San Diego or Las Vegas?
I'm in San Diego for the next two weeks (3/1-3/6 and 3/9-3/13) for work and will be in Las Vegas over this upcoming weekend (3/7-3/8). I'm looking for anyone with a Gibson or Borla exhaust installed in their V8 4x4 who would be interested in meeting up. My main goal is just to see how they sound and how they have affected the sulfur exhaust smell.

If you come up to the Los Angeles area, pm me. Got the Borla.
Haven't heard the Gibson but I do love the sound of the Borla.

Only about 2 hours away. I could do that at some time next week probably.

Don't live near you, but I have the Gibson installed on my 08 V8.
Didn't affect sulfur smell one bit.
The dang thing still stinks. Oh well.

Thanks for the feedback. I've heard the same from other Gibson owners. I'm hoping the Borla does help given its side exhausts.

Did you notice it a lot on yours before putting the borla on? I'd love to hear the borla in person before buying it, hopefully I can find someone who doesn't mind meeting up with me at some point.

I'm just anal and want to hear it first to make sure I don't have any issues with the growl or anything. I'm sure I'll be fine with it but I figure if its possible to listen to it first that would be best.

So Smokey, what did you decide on? I've been talking with Chaz and Slvr RnR about exhausts on another thread. I've had good input from them so far.

So far I actually haven't done anything. My ext. warranty is up in another 10k and I've been taking it in pretty often for the BS warranty claims to get them done. Still fighting with the air pressure noise when depressing the brake petal however everything else so far has been repaired while in the dealer.
Given that winter is coming up and I'll not have the rear window open during the winter, I will probably wait until next summer now to do this (the next time I would most likely open that window). The only real reason I wanted to do it was to get rid of the sulfur smell (which seams the Borla is the way to go). I also have to head up to a buddy who owns a local Performance shop to see what he would charge to just throw a 90 bend on the current exhaust.
I think it really comes down to that side exhaust, that seems to be the trick to getting rid of the smell from what I hear.
