Question for Those With a Gulf States Toyota Alarm System...

I purchased a 2006 4Runner Sport which was equipped by Gulf States Toyota prior to it's arrival at the dealer in Weatherford, TX. A couple of these options included LiquiCell leather seating and an alarm system. This system appears to be the same alarm system installed on all Gulf States Toyota prepared 4Runners by looking at photos on the internet. The big issue I have with this system is that it honks the horn when locking or unlocking the door locks (as opposed to just beeping like a normal Toyota). Does anybody know how to disable this feature on the alarm system?

Thanks so much,

Wes

I don't think you can do that at all.
It becase every new toyota comes with a keyless entry which they make the peeping nosie; But you said you have another alarm system, not RS3200+!
U Can get hold of alarm company over the phone or online and ask them how to program it.
other then that your wires may had been cut to make that alarm work, so some wires wired to the horn direct(which i dont know how!):awais:
The thing is aftermarket alarm most or all dose that, so i don't know what to tell you. Sorry!

According to the manual that came with mine:

1. Start with the LED in the out (off) position.

2. Turn the key to the on position, then to the off position. (Don't start the engine.)

3. Within 10 seconds, push the LED button 6 times.

4. If the horn was set to honk every time you set the alarm, it should now be off.

Is this for the alarm that Gulf States Toyota installed? Is the LED that they mounted in the dash a button also or is there a different button located somewhere else? If this solution works I'll be so happy!

Thanks so much,

Wes

I just got home and tried your method and it worked great. It even honked the horn to acknowledge that I turned the feature off. Now I don't have to listen to the horn blare every time I lock or unlock my 4Runner!!:bouncy:

Thanks again,

Wes

Sorry to bring a dead thread back to life. My questions pertain to the same topic. I just bought a used 05 4runner that came from gulf states. It has the security system and liquicell seats. I want to know where I can find an owners manual for the security system?

I also bought an 05 4runner with I believe is a gulf states alarm. I have the pin under hood and red light on left side of dash. However wires behind light aren't connected to anything. They're rolled up with a zip tie around it.. Does this mean the alarm was never installed completely? I bought a remote, because it did not have one when I bought and me nor locksmith could ever get truck into programming mode even with his suitcase computer. I really don't care about alarm but do want keyless entry. Can anyone help me on what I need to do to get keyless entry on this. I tried searching and couldn't find same issue if it's out there.

Thank you in advance.

My apologies, but I just ran across this while looking for info on the alarm that was apparently installed by Gulf States. Would it be possible for you to copy the manual you received with the alarm? I'm having random issues with mine, like it alarming at odd times when I open the door with the fob (oem). I'm even thinking of trying to disable or remove it entirely but I don't want to cause more problems than I have now. If you could even identify the make/model of the alarm it might help me find info, although this is really old news by this time. Thanks
