Pro-tip: Flip your monitor/phone around - not your head. I figured that one out while hanging upside-down trying to look at one.

I could finally justify getting rid of my E load 285/70R17 Trail Grapplers as they had about 35-40k on them. Today I installed 285/70R17 AT3W’s in a C load. The difference in the ride quality is night and day. I can’t believe I didn’t do this sooner. For 5 years I thought it was my wheels that were giving me vibrations above 45mph, turns out it was those shitty tires. Finally enjoyable to drive my 4runner again. This is what happens when you don’t buy the right tires for your application. Never again.

If I’m not mistaken they have a coupon code/group buy right now. Comes to under $700 shipped for the set like he’s got if you paint them yourself! Look in the classifieds under group buy for the code.

EDIT: SpringGB15 for sliders, valid until Sunday the 5th.

Need help

Hi all,

I was going to create a new post, but I'm new to the forum so need my 15 posts so hoping I can get some feedback here in the meantime. I have an '05 4runner that just got a clean bill of health and the wife bought another car so I get to play with this one. I want to turn it into a decent offroad machine while also able to drive around town.

Basically the only thing I know is that I want a 3" lift and have already ordered rock sliders. I need shocks, wheels and tires. I found a blog with a picture of a truck I liked and here is the build they have:
-FJ 16/7.5 wheels
-BFG KO's in 265/75R16, Donahoe Racing Coilovers with a 2.5" life adn rear 2.0 shocks and 2" lift springs (now known as ICON vehicle dymanics).

I don't know what any of this means or if these are good parts? Do you guys have an opinion on these or is there somewhere I could learn more about this? Basically just wanting to get the car done and go play with it....I'm a noob at mechanical stuff on cars... Really appreciate any feedback!

How much are you rubbing with those 34's? Are you rubbing a ton when you're wheeling? Did you re-gear? I love the setup man.

Trying to decide between Bilstein 5100's and ToyTec springs or OME kit? Thoughts? The Bilsteins and ToyTec set up is about 150 bucks cheaper.
