I’ve been eyeballing this set on eBay:

6X5.5 Hub Centric Wheel Spacers For Toyota 4Runner Tacoma 6x139.7 1.25 Inch 32mm | eBay

No affiliation. But they look the part, seller has over 10k transactions this year with a single bad review, and my new black wheels didn’t come with lug nuts!

Yes. I personally wouldn't skimp with anything that is connected to your wheels and tires! All it takes is an accident or something where a subpar part can cause an issue. I went with the spider brand because they are the best and not putting my family in jeopardy and I want the peace of mind since they've been around forever. Also I liked that the spider are double anodized finish so the costing lasts. My neighbor did the ebay ones and it's already worn when I helped him swap his wheels. You just have to watch these auctions sites cause I've seen part where they stamp made in usa and it's still made in china and the metal isn't the same density.

2003 4runner v8 "RustyRunner"

1. Lift brand & size/style

Bilstein 5100's all around

Toytec Superflex (Non-HD) Rear Springs

OME 885 in front (No top plate spacer)

SPC Upper Control Arms

Junkyard lower control arms "restored" with SPC alignment cams, Moog Lower balljoints and Energy Suspension Bushings

Aluminum swaybar spacer by Supreme Suspensions

Rear Sway bar delete (snapped in half)

2. Tire brand & size

265/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers

17x8 0mm offset American Racing ATX188 LEDGE in Teflon

3. Like the results? or Would you do anything different?

I'm currently very happy with how the setup rides and performs. The wheels were very cheap and new, primarily bought because my stock wheels had extreme pitting and leaked due to the corrosion. I now don't need to run spacers and have an 8 inch wide wheel that i don't care too much about damaging!

The tires were bought when i put the 5100's on it last year, and look small now that I raised it. When these wear out, I plan on getting a matching spare with some 255/80/17's

The front end feels perfect and no longer dangerous. If I was going to do it again, I would do it the exact same way. It was a very big job replacing everything at once!

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or ask! I feel very confident talking about the repairing process now that I've gone through it with seized LCA's (all 4 alignment cams) and almost all bad parts to deal with.

I'm not sure why my 2007 can fit 285/70/17 with stock 7.5 wheels and look level with no lift in the back and 2.5" lift with Bilsteins. I do know that there was quite a bit of rake. Maybe it's less than 2.5 because the shocks are worn.

However, I think that will change when I add wheel spacers. Does anyone know if I actually need to lift the rear because the spacers will make the tire protrude at or beyond the fender well and will rub on the upper lip when hitting a bump? I'm just imagining this in my head with no real experience.

Wheel spacers are for those who do not want to buy, or not ready to buy, aftermarket wheels with the right offset. Is that correct?

The tire shop let me borrow non-hub centric spacers (1.25 - that's all he had on hand) and did a little trimming with a box cutter and moved the wheel liner up a little by pushing it forward and relocating the fastening bolt. We removed the mud-flaps as well. No more rubbing!

Not sure running with "Non-hub centric spacers" is a good idea.
You might want to research that further.

If I read correctly, it’s a temporary measure while he gets in some hug centric ones.

I'm not gonna lie, I was a little uneasy about the combo. Once you see them in person and mount them on though, its sexy. I love the look of them and definitely think they're the best color for mica. I'll try and get some pics. I sold my alpha so stuck with phone pics for the time being.

Love your project as well. How have the Elkas been running?

I don't think this is level. 2.5" Bilstein and 0" Bilstein rear 5100.

Leveling concerns

Hi all,

New here. Picked up an 04 a month and a half ago, and after finding a leveling spacer with what I'm assuming Tacoma coilovers for an excellent price, I decided to level. Put it on today, and I'm worried I've got too much lift now. Seems to be about a half inch to an inch higher than the rear. About 22 inches from center hub to fender in front, and 21 and 21.5 from center hub to fender on rears. Is this too much or is this OK? Seemed to drive fine. If it is, I'll get an alignment and call it done. If it's not OK, I'll pull the spacers off and put them on my stock coilovers. Stock tires @ 265/65r17.

It does look slightly nose high, but doesnt look weird. It may settle and come down a few days to a week, especially after driving it.

However, other thought is how much weight will you have in the rear/ will you be towing? if so that would bring the rear down more.

So likely fine as it is. front may settle and come down a bit. Though you could also put a body spacer or new springs on the back.

It'll mostly just be a daily driver, with occasional light towing and off-roading. Possibly a road trip or 2 a year. My main concern was the UCAs. My thought was also to see if it settles before I do anything.
