What size tires can you run with this setup?

I’m guessing you are talking to me lol.
And about as big as you can go with out cutting and trimming is a 285/70/17 which is what I’m running now.

2006 Limited Lift, Tires and Wheel upgrades!

Hello fellow 4Runner enthusiasts,

I have been working on my 4Runner for the last few months even though I have owned it since 2011 and wish I would have done these upgrades years ago, but better late than never !
I installed Bilstein 5100's all around with OME 886 and 0.5" top plate spacer up front and OME 896 on the back. I installed JBA UCA's to complete the front lift.
Tires are Nitto Ridge Grapplers 295/70R18.
Wheels are Havok off-road H109 black with milled spoke edges 18x9 -12 offset.
I love my new setup and my only complaint is the slight rubbing on the body mount at full lock when pulling in and out of parking spots. Other than that it is just what I wanted.

Looks super clean! Just my .02 though....lose those side steps. It'll do wonders for the overall look of the rig

Thanks for the comment! I would love to remove the running boards, but my wife and daughter who are shorter than me need them to get into my 4Runner. I could replace them with some nerf bars or other metal side steps instead.

Ahhh gotcha...oh well. My gf is used to mine and I don't have kids yet so that's why I get away with it haha. I definitely like the stock steps better than the others though because they hang so low. The stock ones are definitely the best clearance wise.

I really like the look of no running boards or would prefer some low profile rock sliders that blend in nicely. Unfortunately, the sliders I want cost around $800 so those will have to come later.

4th Gen 4Runner: Daystar 2.5", 265/70R17 tires, stock wheels

2.5" front, 1.5" rear Daystar - $100 parts, $400 installed
265/70R17 Goodyear Trailrunner AT - $677

Total Price: $1177

My old tires finally wore out, so I threw a lift on. I wanted a lift that was just tall enough to get some bigger tires under there, without needing to change out the wheels. There is no tire rubbing and the ride feels exactly the same as factory. Getting in and out of the truck you notice it and it feels like you are sitting higher above the road. This lift and tire combo got me a total of 3.5" lift in the front and 2" in the rear. The tires converted are 31.5" tall, and are 1" taller than stock.

The factory rake is still slightly there, which I like. When towing or loaded up for camping it sits mostly level.

Went with the Goodyear Trailrunner AT's because Consumer reports rates them Good or Very Good on every category they test, and VERY GOOD on the snow. They have low rolling resistance and are quite. An aggressive tread pattern, but still a great mostly on road tire with occasional off-road use.

BONUS of this tire size: before I put on the larger tire size the speedometer read faster than I was actually going, not it is right on!

Next? Need to replace the paper thin rusted out gas tank skid plate. Rock sliders, full armor underneath, rear kitchen set up and a hidden winch would be nice too... Want it to be a "sleeper" 4x4, surprisingly capable off road, but still looks mostly stock.

Eco lift

08 SR5 4x4

I have the economic package: Bilstein 5100s and Falken wildpeaks

Bilstein 5100 all 4 corners, still have stock springs. Ill need to upgrade the rears if i do anymore towing. I did a big uhaul recently and the ride was rough.

Falken wildpeak AT3 265 70 17, couldnt pass up $120 per tire, though I probably would have gone for 255 75 17 if I had a good deal
