Hey- thanks for sharing. I'm looking at builds and grabbing ideas as I go along. I'll look at Ebay for sure!

Bilstein 5100 all 4 corners, still have stock springs. Ill need to upgrade the rears if i do anymore towing. I did a big uhaul recently and the ride was rough.

Falken wildpeak AT3 265 70 17, couldnt pass up $120 per tire, though I probably would have gone for 255 75 17 if I had a good deal
Thought i'd include comparison to my 265 65 17 all season tires. personally, I dont think the jump from my all season tires to 265 70 17 Falken wildpeaks changed the appearance that much. Its always been function over form for me anyhow.

I also included a pic with front stance

For all you V8 guys running 285/70R17+ (~33”) what are you doing about your spare tire?

Before I got my rear bumper I would air it down and put it under the rear. With it aired down you can pull it back away from the panhard bar. I could only do this because I keep an air pump in the truck. Some people that have roof racks will put them up on top or you can just keep it in the back. Short of going with a full bumper setup you can get something like the Tire Gate 4Runner | WilcoOffroad.com

Just curious, but why was the question specifically directed to V8 guys?

Any issues with TPMS with this method? I already planned on keeping a portable compressor anyway...

2 reasons: 1. The full-time 4WD system makes it more pertinent to V8 owners. 2. The V8 load balancing hitch leaves even less space underneath for spares. Even 32s won’t fit without some fanangaling.

To be honest I have no idea. Mine is a 2003 so it doesn't have TPMS....

Gotcha. Thanks for clarifying. I don't know that the hitch has been the main issue with fitment though, I think it's more on the panhard side, but I could be wrong. And I guess to answer your question; only so many places to carry them right? Some on the roof, some in the cargo, and some on the rear with some sort of carrier. I've heard of some squishing deflated or worn 33's in there. Even seen somebody sucking it down with a ratchet strap. And yes, if it's under the pressure limit, your TPMS will let you know.

I myself have been living dangerously with no spare for quite a while. I don't advocate that for everybody. Ever since I went oversized, it was useless anyway.

Hope that helps. Good luck man!

The "towing package" hitch takes up more room than the standard one, decreasing the total height of what can fit between it and panhard (~32" wheel or so, from what I gather).

I've read finding a used, semi-worn 285/70R17 gives enough space to clear the panhard fully inflated...wanted to see if anyone had any tricks while I'm mulling over going up to this size.
