Any rubbing issues? If not i'll be purchasing the springs sooner.

Mike

The normal pushing the fender liner forward, removing mud flaps, and trimming some plastic near where the mud flaps were. For daily driving it’s doing really well not rubbing now.

Tires do not clear body mount at full lock. Caster is 3.6. I guess the wheels could go a little more forward. I’m getting a body mount chop in a few weeks. It’s fine for on-road driving right now.

The 650lb spring definitely makes it taller. I had to lower it down to the 3rd clip from the 5th (second highest) because I had 1/2” reverse rake even with the 2” Icon springs in the rear. Now it’s sits perfect with about 1/4” of forward rake.

that's coming! just got another trd pro wheel and i'm going to get another ko2 new since this set isn't very old at all. for now i'll have to carry it in the back, but i'm looking to get a rear hitch swingout very soon. just wish detours of maine wasn't on a 12 month backorder right now. might have to go with RIGd but dayumn....over $1k seems crazy to me!

anyway, i haven't had a full size spare for about a year now and have luckily not had to use one. maybe not lucky so much as the bfg ko2's are burly AF. i still have the factory spare underneath....it would still work for me for where i go most of the time if i was in a real pinch... i'd just put the smaller spare on the front and drive out in 2wd.

Lift + Front End Refresh

My 2005 SR5 4wd is coming up on 200k and starting to show its age with a little wobble at 60 MPH. I know I need to replace the hubs/wheel bearings and figured I'd do a refresh on the front end. I just moved to Denver so picked up a couple of CVJ Reman front axles and also ordered JBA UCAs.

Right now I'm riding on Bilstein 5100s (fronts at .85) and FJ Trail Teams springs all around. I have about 50k on a set of 255/75/17 Cooper AT3 4S (32.2") on 5th Gen TRD OR wheels and they've served me well but I'm looking to move up to some 33" Falkens so I may try to lift it another inch or so. I've considered adjusting the Bilsteins up a notch or two but I think I'd rather not compress the springs that much. Can anyone recommend a set of springs that pair well with 5100s (and can fit a 33" tire without setting the Bilsteins above the first notch or two)?

Also - are there any other items I should look at or replace while I have everything apart? I think it would made sense to do the lower control arms as well - is the consensus still that Toyota OEM is the right move there?

Brother, you're a better mechanic than I am. I did virtually the same on mine with OME coils with Billsteins. For me it was more like 3 hours to do the rear springs, but I got them did and have been super happy with them.

2008 sr5

hi, Im new here and trying to figure out my lift/ tire/ rim options.
I am working on getting set up for off roading / overlanding. I am going to do a 3" suspension lift and I would like to get bigger tires, Id really like to go up to 33" if possible but I am not sure if they would fit. If you were starting from scratch what would you do. Im thinking of doing a small body lift to help with better clearance for bigger tires but I dont want to go too big and throw of the center of gravity. Im having a hard time finding good options for low profile bumpers too, any hints?

All depends on your goals and budget - rock climbing, desert riding, just general aggressive looks. How expensive or economic do you want in a suspension, whats your budget for wheels/ tires, do you need added protection - sliders, skid plates, off road bumpers/ recovery points

Lots of reading. - scan through this thread to get ideas.

Good looking 4runner, not too many folks running with 18 tires. Ive got 275/65/18's and using limited wheels at the moment, what offset are your visions?

Thanks! The offset is -12. I went with 18-in wheels because that's what was on it new. In hindsight it would be better off-road to have more tire and less rim. I'll just have to be careful.
