Do I need a More Powerful Battery? will this affect battery life?

Soon Im going to get one pair of headrest monitors + subs + amp....do I need a more powerful battery or the stock one should work fine?...

I'm asking cuz my kids love to watch movies and play a lot of videogames...will this affect the battery life?

PS: going on a trip in July to Texas and buying these equipment (monitors) so they stay busy and don't complain on the road..

your stock battery will be fine unless your adding a huge amp (like 1500 watts) and massive subs (2 15's or 3 12's)

If your just adding the monitors they dont take alot of power at all. If your adding 1-2 10" or 12" subs and an amp under 1000 watts the stock battery will be fine.

I don't think it should be a problem, like some other members said, unless you get a 1000watt sub you'll be okay.

With just 600 watts you should be fine, however if you see dimming at night you will need to upgrade something, and more than likely tha would be your alternator.

I agree, alternator is the number one and most important upgrade to do for electrical upgrade. Alternator is what feeds the electrical system when the truck is running. Battery's main function is to start the truck.

Caps are ok to an extent. Like I said, the alternator is the source of all power. So while yes a cap will provide power for that 'hit', the alternator still has to charge that back up (it's a very high charge/discharge battery), along with still running the stereo, charging the exhisting battery, possibly running lights, engine electronics, a/c, etc. If a cap is going to run around $150, I strongly believe that an upgraded 180-220A alternator is a better investment for $250 or so. My $.02.

Like someone said a cap can help to give the amp some added juice for the big bass hit but it does not add any power to your electrical system and actually adds another component that's drawing power from your battery...like someone else said, install the system, if you get light dimming upgrade your alternator, not your battery...just my 2 cents...

no a cap will not give power but it stores power keeping the current as stabe as possible. an alternator upgrade will not be needed for the setup you are going for. even a cap will be money in a way wasted for that setup. ive ran 3 10's two amps and i ran one cap on the factory alternator with zero light dim or loss of power.
just make sure not to sit long w/ the car not running cause that will drain the battery. thats the only issue youll run in to

Buy a cap only if you feel like spending lots of money for some cool lights. I just don't believe they are worth the money.

hide a deep cycle battery under the seat, a odessey pc680 will be fine , have the tv and game hook up to it, also wire it back to the main battery, do the big 3 upgrade and ull be fine, use 4 gauge wire minimum to wire everything.
