normal amp draw

I have a 06 V8 Limited 4x4. Does anybody know what is the normal amp draw on Battery- Ignition Off- for Radio Memory and Clock? Does .13 sound high to you? If someone has a multimeter and test this out I would greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I don't know what the number is for sure, but that doesn't sound high. There are a lot of computers on the 4Runner for various features, and they all draw a little power to keep their memory.

If the battery is a 70amp/hour battery (that's a close guess) then it would take 22.x days to run the battery down in theory. 3 weeks = no start. I think that's a bit short. My guess is .13amp is high. I have found most cars will start within 30 days, in normal conditions, with a good battery.

Maybe it's normal...

I would venture to say that its probably normal. Your old battery "died" becuase of a bad cell, that more than likley was not caused by a slow drain. If it was then AAA would have been able to charge the battery. Dead cells are usually caused by the electrolyte within the cell drying up, once the lead plating is exposed it oxidizes and is ruined.

Lackofguilt, were you the guy from AAA? That's excacly what happened. My old battery did died of bad cell and he would not charge bad battery with bad cell.
