Alarm going off in middle of night

I have a 2008 sport edition and my neighbors have told me that my alarm is going off in the middle of the night. Has anyone else had a malfunction with their alarms and if so whats the fix

I remember messing with my alarm (dealer installed) and there was a sensitivity setting. You may have one with the sensitivity really high.

I can't find the manual for the alarm but you can pull the kick panel, look at the model, and download the manual for it.

Did you ever get this sorted out? My alarm started malfunctioning around 11 PM last night...my only "fix" is has been to disconnect the battery so I don't lose my mind.

Check your battery, I had it going off every few minutes for absolutely zero reason for several hours and dropping in a new battery fixed it immediately.

I haven't specifically encountered this with the 4R, but I have with some other early 00s toyotas.

We have a KIA Optima that started doing this a few months back and it was a low battery charge. Put charger on for a few hours and got battery fully charged and no more problems.

THIS is the answer.

I have an 06 SE, and the damn alarm would go off practically every night, my battery died and I replaced it, problem solved!

A weak battery can cause a lot of seemingly odd, one-off symptoms like hatch motor issues, rear wiper runs by itself, etc. First step when something weird happens without an obvious root cause should be checking your battery.

This happened to me when the battery in my fob started dying. Always in the middle of the night.
