Hi from Japan
New to the t4r board , but definatly not new to the joy of offroading and the 4 runner /hilux surf.
As the title says I'm here in Yokohama Japan and have been for many years ,20 to be exact.
I was in the Navy here until 1991 then left service and just decided to stay I really dig the culture here it's cool.
By the way I call home Wisconsin when I'm stateside .
heres a current pic of my rig she's a d/d so I can't get to radical with the modifications
Daniel

Welcome to the board!

Thanks for the comps,Right now it's factory Gunmetallic but I'm looking into doing it in woodland camo leaving the black and chrome where it's at. Basically giving me decent looks/one of a kind and I won't worry about brush scratches on trail runs and camping
Before I do though I have to check into base regs there real funny about that kinda thing sometimes.

Hey Daniel, nice looking 1st gen you got there Be sure to check out the "Japan" sub-forum, located HERE. It's empty right now but it would be great to get some activity in there. I think there's a couple of other members living in Japan, I think Woodbert?? lives there.

Actually I am familiar with Woodbert from another forum but we've never met he's in Oki where as I'm main land kinda like the difference between Ore. state and Fla.
Actually I've noticed quite a few familiar names of folks from other forums I frequent
I will however be using the sub forum a little later as I know quite a few of our service members in my area are avid offroaders /4 runner drivers.
Out here the guy's usually end up with gen2's and like me a handful of gen 1's.
I will be submitting more shots of my rig and a friends under the gallery section over the next week or so.
Later
Daniel

No can't say I'm familiar with either from what I can read (Japanese) and given body numbers looks like the one site is predominately gen2's.
The other has a pretty good mix 1's 2's and 3's.

That is odd. If you click the gallery link in the second link you get a ton of 4th gens with great mods. I posted a new thread so that everyone could easily access and discuss the gallery of 4th gen hilux's with mods. Click HERE to get to it.

Nope, me either. As is typicaly the case here, the language barrier prevents much interation via electronic means. And for me, since those organizations are in Honshu or "the main island" I can't meet them. Okinawa is about 900 air miles from Tokyo and a large body of water seperates us.

yes, those are 4th gens. notice that the site has a big "#215" at the top which is the 4th gen. Also notice the model numbers, all of them have the "N215" in their body code. all of them are 4th gens.
The HSOC site has a mixture of 1st(N61), 2nd(N130), and 3rd(N185) gen surfs.
