My fiance has an '05 4Runner V8 that's on order. Last nite I had a dream that it was present day and the 4Runner came in. At first I was pleasantly surprised because I wasn't expecting the V8s to come in until December or January.
I was all excited and immediately before I even checked out anything else, the first thing I did was to go look under the hood for "VVT-i" emblems to make sure it really was an 05 and really did have VVT-i. So I pop open the hood and immediately see VVT-i... but then I notice that the engine looks nothing like the previous i-Force. The closer I look, the more I see it doesn't even look like a V8. It's then that the dealer tells me that the order was accidently submitted for a V6, and that's why we got the 4Runner "early". He seems to expect me to be OK with this since I should be happy that we got the 4Runner ahead of schedule and just ignore the fact that it's the wrong motor. I explain to him that my fiance's current car is working just fine and we don't mind waiting. He starts arguing with me telling me that I should have double-checked the order options and that he can't possibly sell this 4Runner to anyone else because it's a limited without a sunroof (which is the way we did order it in real life), and nobody in their right mind will buy a limited without a sunroof.
Then in the weirdest twist of events (it's a dream, remember) I look back at the 4Runner and realize that it's actually a new Toyota Sienna minivan, and it turns out the V6 is actually the 3.3L V6 from the Camry/ES330. So then I just start thinking "this is rediculous" and I turn to my fiance to say "let's tell them to order the right car and get out of here" but then she decides that she wants a minivan anyway (we don't even have kids) and so it's basically the dealer
and my fiance versus me.
So then (as dreams tend to do), it gets even weirder. So my fiance goes with the dealer down to the 7th basement level of this dealership (lol, I have no idea what dealership has a 7+ story basement) to sign the paperwork on this minivan. I try to follow but she tells me that since I'm objecting to her getting this minivan then I can just stay on the showroom floor and wait for her. I try to sneak down anyhow when I realize that the basement level of this dealership has the kind of high-tech security system and boobytraps you'd expect to see in the pentagon... not in a dealership. And the security gets worse and worse each layer I go down until eventually an alarm gets set off and a steel cage traps me. I have to wait there in shame until my fiance and the dealer come back from signing the paperwork and let me out.
Man I was pissed until I finally woke up and realized I was in a bad dream.
Just thought I'd share.
